Danny Gatton Telecaster Pickup Set Danny Gatton Telecaster Pickup Set
The T-Style pickups are the models that Joe Barden first offered. These innovative pickups created a new model of high-end replacement pickups as opposed to those that were merely variations on established designs or basic repair parts.

Originally designed for Danny Gatton (and with Danny testing every step of the way) they have become the first choice of professional Tele™ players worldwide. The tone of these pickups can be described as absolutely vintage in character, but with greatly expanded fidelity. The lows, mids, and highs are all equal in strength, eliminating the thin, or "tinny" sound that is often a problem with Tele-styled guitars.

The T-Neck is remarkable in that it can be adjusted so that its output is actually equal to the T-Bridge, thus solving the age-old Tele player's complaint: huge output differences between the bridge and neck pickups. While these pickups can be adjusted to greatly exceed the output level of stock pickups, the authentic Tele twang and snap is maintained, and any kind of noise, be it hum, hiss, or squeal, is completely eliminated.

The T-Bridge features our unique "staggered-blade" design, common to all Joe Barden single coil sized bridge pickups, for balanced response on the outer strings. These pickups are the best imaginable for the instrument that originally defined the solid body electric guitar.

T-Style pickups fit standard Tele body routs and require no modifications to the instrument. They utilize 4 conductor shielded cable to allow for any possible wiring combination and are supplied with wiring diagrams download and mounting hardware to facilitate installation.
Our Price (each): £250.32 (Including VAT at 20%)

DiMarzio Area T Neck (DP417) and Bridge (DP418) DiMarzio Area T Neck (DP417) and Bridge (DP418)
We believe the Area ’58 ™ and Area ’61 ™ are a major step forward in the performance of humcancelling Strat® replacement pickups. The new technology that went into these models has allowed us to make a similar advance with Telecaster® replacement pickups.

The Area T™ neck model has the combination of clarity and warmth that Telecaster® players have always sought, and the new technology allows us to include a vintage Tele cover with no sacrifice in sound quality or power.

The Area T™ bridge model does what a great Tele® bridge pickup is supposed to do: the highs sing, the lows snap and the mids have a punch that’s almost unreal.

Tech Talk: The most instantly obvious quality of the Area T™ bridge model is dynamics. The Area T™ tracks changes in pick attack and volume, and it does it instantly. It’s also very sensitive to string distance. The volume is very high when the pickup is close to the strings, but can be adjusted much lower by backing the Area T™ away. String pull is not a problem with the Alnico 2 magnets that are standard on the Area T™.

The contrast between a warm neck pickup tone and a biting bridge pickup sound is a Tele® hallmark, but it’s hard to achieve if the neck pickup is muddy. The Area T™ neck model has a very smooth tone, but its ability to remain clear even with heavy overdrive is an essential quality of Area design. The Area T™ was designed to work with 250K controls, but treble response and output can be increased by using 500K volume and tone controls or tweaked further with a 250K volume and the EP1202 1 Megohm tone control.

DiMarzio Air Norton T (DP380) DiMarzio Air Norton T (DP380)
The Air Norton T™ is the Tele® bridge replacement version of the full-size Air Norton™. It’s warm-sounding, very well balanced, and has the same unique tonal characteristics as the original. Fatter and louder than a vintage humbucker but not as overwhelming as a metal pickup, it’s a great way for Tele® players to make their guitars rock-friendly.

Tech Talk: The original Airbuckers™ have an air gap between the magnet and the polepieces. The Air Norton T™ doesn’t have this feature, but the sound, output and feel are so similar to the original that we couldn’t call it anything else. It’s a very good bridge pickup for all types of rock. The combination of medium output and harmonic bite are very effective for single-note soloing as well as chords. The split and parallel humbucking modes are very good, with a glassy sound closer to a stock Tele®.

DiMarzio Pre-B1 Tele Bridge Pickup (DP112) DiMarzio Pre-B1 Tele Bridge Pickup (DP112)
There are two kinds of Tele® players: country pickers for whom twang is king (DiMarzio doesn't make Twang King™ pickups for nothing, right?), and players of blues and rock who need less high-end snap and more low-end muscle. We're not talking imitation humbucker-sound here. The Pre B-1™ maintains a lot of the basic character of the Tele® bridge position, but the sound is bigger. It can still cut through a mix, but it will fill more space, as well. It also has about 25% more power than a stock Tele® bridge pickup. That means thicker overdrive and more sustain from your favorite tube amp.
Recommended For: Standard Tele bridge position.

Seymour Duncan APTL-3JD Jerry Donahue Seymour Duncan APTL-3JD Jerry Donahue

Well-balanced true single-coil pickup with boosted output. Recommended for traditional country, country pop, blues, and classic rock.

When the "Bendmaster of the Telecaster" needed a touring guitar with the exact same sound as his prized '52, he turned to Seymour who accurately duplicated the warm, punchy tone of its lead pickup. Seymour used Alnico 2 rod magnets and a special wind for increased sustain and output. Symmetrically staggered pole pieces mirror the fingerboard radius and assure exceptionally balanced string-to-string response. The result is a traditional, sweet and balanced tone, with high-end detail combined with low-end fatness and punch, and tons o' twang.

Available in lead (bridge) position only. The APTR-1 is the closest match in the rhythm (neck) position; however Jerry uses an APS-2 Alnico II Pro™ for Strat® in the neck position. For brighter toned instruments. Works especially well with maple fingerboards.

Seymour Duncan Hot Lead (STL-2) and Hot Rhythm (STR-2) Seymour Duncan Hot Lead (STL-2) and Hot Rhythm (STR-2)

Hot true single-coil pickup with increased output. Great for country pop, rockabilly, blues, jam, and classic rock.

Imagine taking the Vintage models and turning up the output. You get a fat and full punch in both the low frequencies and mid-range, yet it retains the muscular twang of the Vintage. The sensitive coil combined with custom length flat pole pieces provides more sustain.

Available for both rhythm (neck) and lead (bridge) positions. The rhythm pickup has a similarly designed high-output coil for full, clear sound and comes with a chrome-plated brass cover. Often used in the lead position and matched with a lower output rhythm pickup like the STR-1 Vintage.
