Fishman Ellipse Matrix Blend Fishman Ellipse Matrix Blend

The Ellipse™ Matrix Blend brings the best of both worlds to acoustic guitar amplification: the sparklling transparent sound of Fishman's popular Acoustic Matrix™ undersaddle transducer, enhanced by the expressive character of an internal microphone. The preamp is ergonomically designed for installation inside the edge of the guitar's soundhole, providing easy fingertip control of volume and blending of the two sound sources. A phase button helps fight feedback. The preamp features an ingenious no-drill magnetic mounting system and is nearly invisible when installed.

The Ellipse™ Matrix Blend also features switchable voicings to accommodate different instrument sizes and performance situations: the Natural I setting boosts the bass response for smaller instruments, and the Natural II position gives a flatter response to control the boominess of larger guitars. The high quality cardioid condenser mini-microphone is mounted on a flexible gooseneck, allowing optimum placement inside the soundhole for best sound. The preamp fits most round soundholes, 3-7/8" to 4-1/8" (97 - 108mm) in diameter. Fishman's Acoustic Matrix™ undersaddle transducer is designed for string spacings up to 2-1/2". A battery mounting clip, pre-wired endpin jack and installation instructions are included. 9-volt battery is required.

Available in narrow (.094"/2.3mm) and wide (.125"/ 3.2mm) bridge saddle formats.

Professional installation is recommended.

Fishman Rare Earth Blend Fishman Rare Earth Blend

The Rare Earth Blend pairs an active humbucking pickup with a high quality, internally mounted miniature microphone. The system combines the percussive attack and controlled sustain of the magnetic pickup with the resonant, ambient qualities captured by the internal microphone. These sonic components couple seamlessly to provide a cohesive, three-dimensional amplified acoustic guitar tone. The microphone is a miniature electret type, with a hypercardioid response pattern for high volume, low feedback performance. It easily adjusts into position with a flexible gooseneck that is permanently attached to the pickup housing. Balance between the microphone and magnetic signals is controlled by a small rotary pan pot, accessed through the soundhole.

A simple modification to the Rare Earth Blend allows you to split the microphone and pickup signals for true stereo blending. Battery life is rated at 150 hours.

Professional installation is recommended.

Seymour Duncan Mag Mic Seymour Duncan Mag Mic

Why mix a magnetic pickup with a microphone? Because, the magnetic pickup senses the guitar string's vibrations and the microphone accurately reproduces the complex and rich character of the acoustic tone. Blended together, the result is the most natural-sounding, three dimensional, acoustic guitar soundhole pickup. Ever!
Introducing the Mag Mic. The first active, humbucking, magnetic soundhole pickup featuring a built-in microphone and blend circuit, together with adjustable pole pieces. Installation is a snap. And the sound is amazing! From deep, rich lows, to percussive mids, to shimmering highs, the entire tonal spectrum of the acoustic guitar is accurately duplicated and amplified.
The Mag-Mic has been designed to mount off-center in the soundhole, towards the neck. In this configuration it will accommodate soundhole diameters from "3.85" to "4.10".
