The DiMarzio X2N Bridge Model DP102BK has been the top choice for all-out power for nearly 30 years. DiMarzio has developed totally new ways to combine power with clarity, which first resulted in the D Activator™. The D Activator-X™ Bridge Model features the same striking look and high output as the X2N®, but DiMarzio tuned the coils to different frequencies to allow maximum power wide open with a surprisingly clean sound when the volume control is rolled down, even with extreme metal and high-gain amps. The D Activator-X™ bridge model uses the same bar polepieces and magnet structure as the X2N®, but it's a very different pickup in other ways. The X2N is a take-no-prisoners, in-your-face humbucker. Twin, wide-bar pole pieces give the X2N a nasty, dangerous look - and rightly so. DiMarzio's highest gain pickup excels at thrashing your amplifier into screaming overdrive. Put one in the bridge position for a powerful boost in the voltage the amp sees from your guitar.

If you've seen Steve Vai perform in the last few years, you may have seen him playing a Jem guitar with the word Pogo taped on the face. Steve wanted one of his instruments to have a fat, classic humbucker sound to contrast with the hotter, screaming Evolution®-equipped guitars. This is the pickup DiMarzio developed for him.

The Breed was designed to warm up and smooth out the sound of 25½ scale trem guitars. It's got a lot more power than a PAF®, but it also has a finer 'touch' than high-output models. Picking hard will generate a lot of voltage, but a softer attack will clean up the sound of an overdriven amp.

If you love the sound of a Super Distortion in the bridge and you like hot neck pickups too, try a Super 2. The Super 2 takes the classic Super Distortion sound and slides the EQ up in favor of the high-end, so its brighter top and lighter bottom work to balance out the darker, overtone-heavy information up by the fingerboard.

The Super 2 is just the pickup to clean up the overdrive sound of a mud-heavy 24-3/4 in. scale, 2-humbucker guitar. Add snap to a dark sounding 25-1/2 in. bolt-on. It works great in the bridge or the neck.

This is a very bright bridge pickup, but the highest frequencies are rounded off enough to allow the pickup to cut without being too buzzy or metallic.

The original Evolution bridge model did what Steve Vai wanted it to do - kick butt and produce serious scream. Then he wanted something a little more complex - the same basic tone with increased headroom and dynamics, so that the sound kills on 10 and cleans up when the volume is rolled down. With a little less power than the original Evolution, EVO2 balances perfectly with the Evolution neck model and performs equally well with high gain and vintage amps.

Steve's Special is a non-traditional approach to a high-output bridge humbucking design. Hot humbuckers usually concentrate most of the pickup's power in a narrow frequency band for maximum impact. Using DiMarzio's patented dual-resonance design Steve's Special takes the opposite path, spreading the sound over a broad range. Bass and treble frequencies are boosted while the mids are pulled back so the pickup's power doesn't kick a high-gain amp into overdrive as easily. This makes Steve's Special a good choice for both fast soloing and clean chords, because individual notes won't smear together with heavy overdrive, and clean sounds have an almost hi-fi quality.

Seymour Duncan's first production pickup to use an Alnico 8 magnet, the Alternative 8 starts with hot coils wound for maximum output. With the addition of the Alnico 8 magnet, output is enhanced with a huge, punchy sound, full of fat mids and present upper-mids. This is a dynamic pickup that doesn’t get “sizzly” or dark like some high-output ceramic magnet pickups.

The Dimebucker uses a powerful ceramic magnet coupled with stainless steel blades for hard-hitting crunch. The SH-13 has both high d.c. resistance and a high resonant peak. The result is a high-output, aggressive humbucker with more treble bite and clarity than an SH-8 Invader; as well as punchy bass response and exceptional dynamics. The Warpig humbucker is clad in a hand distressed nickel silver cover with double screw coils and Alnico V magnet. Each coil is scatterwound by hand to create a brutal sound whilst the twin rows of Allen bolts retain clarity through the top end and masses of power.

Double wax potted to eliminate microphony and supplied with four conductor wiring for series or parallel switching; the Warpig is the definitive tool for any kind of battle.

Suitable for bridge or neck position and available in all shades of black.

The HB and HB Two/Tone™ are full humbucker-sized pickups designed for players who are looking for the maximum amount of tone, sensitivity and output, without being saddled with an inherently distorted or muddy-sounding humbucker. The HB provides incredible low-end clarity and overall high sustain characteristics that make it suitable for virtually any purpose, from blues to rock to jazz.

The HB Two/Tone™ is an additional refinement of the HB pickup. The HB Two/Tone™ was designed to be the ultimate pickup for Hum/Single/Single or Hum/Single/Hum guitars, as it is literally two pickups in one: you get the HB tone when the pickup is in full mode, and when you hit the switch (a DPDT mini-switch or push/pull pot), the tone and output change to that of an S-Deluxe, so that in combination with the middle pickup, you get the perfect "in-between" sound. There is no switching noise and no hum in either mode. The HB Two/Tone™ is available for both neck and bridge positions.

The design is a complete improvement over any kind of series/parallel or split-coil wiring, as it gives you the same tone and output level as the S-Deluxe! Many musicians have told us that the HB Two/Tone™ is like a Strat pickup that turns itself into a humbucker!
